Exposure
-Knowledge of IT delivery and architecture including knowledge of Data Modelling and/or DBA, first experience in application design and programming.
-Relevant Financial Services experience.
-Experience in data and business analysis and design with a cohesive vision of key business data challenges.
-Ability to work in a fast paced environment with competing and alternating priorities with a constant focus on delivery.
-Ability to balance business demands and IT fulfilment in terms of standardization, reducing risk and increasing IT flexibility.
-Ability to relate and adapt data-related vision and strategy to the external environment that affects the organization in terms of economic climate, customer market demand, regulation and other legalities, geography, political, culture, labor, technology.

Experience
-5+ years experience in the following areas:
o Well developed (business / data / functional) analysis skills, including ability to quickly understand business requirements.
o System development life cycle: waterfall / agile.
o Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
o Strong ETL skills.
o Strong Data Warehousing / Modeling / Database design skills.
o Excellent Stakeholder management.

-Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
o Data Architect position(s) held within Investment Bank.
o Data Governance.
o Regulatory reporting, preferably within Treasury / Liquidity domain

-Experience of data mining via SQL.
-Able to model relationally or semi-structured.
-Experience of working with ETL tools such as Informatica and using data management tools such as Power Designer and EA Sparx.
-Exposure to BI Tools such as Oracle BI / SAP Business Objects / Cognos.
-An understanding of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachmann.
-Hands on knowledge of Treasury, Risk and / or Finance functions within an investment bank (desired, but not mandatory).
-Knowledge of IT delivery and architecture including knowledge of Data Modelling and/or DBA, first experience in application design and programming.

Role Description Summary
The Data Architect helps ensure that common data architecture strategies are implemented consistently in projects and initiatives to support proper data management. To do so, the Data Architecture Lead maintains data related artefacts and works closely with non-data architects under the direction of a Lead Data Architect.
The Data Architect applies Bank-wide data standards and best practices, and supports program and project teams on data related questions and strategies. This role helps to determine the best data source(s) for a project and develops or oversees the project data related deliverables.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

-Engage business and business analysts to define data requirements across Treasury functions and ensure that data models will support delivery of solutions.
-Provide direction to business analysts and developers.
-Engage Enterprise Architects to identify Source Systems of Record.
-Engage Enterprise Architects / DB Domain Data Architects to ensure Treasury’s Data Sourcing initiatives align to strategic data vocabulary, sourcing and modeling activities.
-Ensure models are integrated appropriately across Treasury functions and transparent to business stakeholders.
-Delivery of improvements to Treasury’s Data Governance Framework including best practice suggestions where appropriate.
-Ensure data lineage, data models and functional aspects are captured accurately and appropriately within Data Management tooling (Power Designer / EA Sparx / Visio).
-Hands on analysis where required to support business analysts as appropriate.
-Mentor/Educate more junior/offshore team members.
-Delivery of Data Quality improvements through partnering with Source Systems of Record.
-Driving data sourcing delivery efficiencies through partnering with business analysts & development teams.
-Playing a key role in assuring that Treasury’s Technology objectives are achieved.
