Role purpose:
• Provide and operate IT infrastructure services for Oracle systems related to VF European customers.
• Constantly optimize Oracle infrastructure and deliver cost efficient services of high quality.
• Develop scripts and programs for extending the IT solutions functionality, or the automation of current activities.
• Maintain the Database functioning within proposed performance parameters; provide its integrity and security related to IT and Telecom applications.
Key - Responsibilities:
• Maintain the Oracle environments which support Vodafone Group’s key business applications.
• Provide best customer experience on service performance due to regular system reviews and pro-active performance and resilience improvements.
• Manage database related refresh and decommissioning programs whilst maintaining the highest level of Service availability to Vodafone customers.
• Participate to all project stages that impact the company's IT infrastructure.
• Participate to the acceptance tests. Recommends the entrance (or not) in production of the new deployments.
• Create maintenance plans for the administrated databases.
• Proactively execute maintenance activities based on maintenance plans, alerts and notifications.
• Monitoring the database performance. Developing proactive plans for maintaining the performance to high standards.
• Analyze and offer troubleshooting for internal customers requests concerning database problems, in the agreed service levels and business priorities, ensuring a minimal impact on their work.
• Define and implement data access control methods to protect the database from unauthorized access.
• Incident Management (diagnose problems, solution establishing and implementing, eliminating the „root cause“, reporting the problem status).
• Provide full documentation regarding the databases under management.
• Perform data retrieval from managed databases in case of disaster or incident affecting data integrity.

Requirements:

Education: Academic level
Experience, Skills & Competencies:
• Good knowledge of DC Environment
• Reasonable standard read/write capabilities in English
• Experience in a multinational environment
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
• Good knowledge in administration of Oracle databases in a production environment
• Good knowledge of further Oracle database options like i.e. RAC, Data Guard, GRID Control
• Access to more than 10000 database technology - advantage
• Good understanding of ITIL
• Good understanding of SOX and Security regulations
• Documentation capabilities
• Excellent problem solving capabilities
• Well organized, setting priorities and rigorous
• Work abilities in distributed and remote teams
