The Chassis & Safety Division develops and produces electronic and hydraulic brake and chassis control systems, sensors, driver assistance systems, air bag control systems, washer systems and electronic air suspension systems. Its core competence is the integration of active and passive driving safety into ContiGuard®.

The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems department develops products and systems based on intelligent Camera, Radar & Lidar sensors that are able to "see" and collect details from traffic in the surrounding area of the vehicles. The used sensors contain very powerful processing elements that are able to run intelligent Image, Radar and Lidar signal processing algorithms trough which the high volume of information from traffic is analyzed and translated in actions and decisions which are transmitted to the driver trough visual or acoustic information or direct take the control of the vehicle brakes, acceleration and direction. The opened position is in an Innovation team in Automotive Research & Development area. The team is responsible to develop advanced functions for future Highly and Full Automated Driving Vehicles. The Advanced Functions for the Automated Driving Vehicles use the information from multiple ADAS sensors and add additional information like: The precise positi
on of the vehicle on the road, The geometrical dimensions of the road in actual and future position of the vehicle, The fix elements on the road that are extracted from detailed maps and which are updated live and broadcasted periodically to the traffic participants by fix base stations The participants in traffic which are "seen" by other vehicles or by fix base stations which are connected to the vehicle on RF communication channels. The resulting volume of information from traffic is used to generate a highly accurate digital Environment Model which is updated dynamically with a high refresh rate. The digital Environment Model is further used by the decisions algorithms that control the trajectory, the speed, the acceleration and the driving style of the Automated Driving Vehicle. The Visual C++ SW design engineer will:
* Propose, define and develop new functions for the Environment Model of the AD Vehicles
* Clarify the requirements and the interconnections between own functions and other functions or system components
* Integrate & Validate the functions within the frame SW
* Support the deployment of the frame SW on High calculation power PCs used for the test benches and test vehicles
* Test the performances of implemented functions in the laboratory (test on the test bench level)
* Participate to the test drives (test on the vehicle level)
* Collaborate with other Innovation teams and other Continental divisions, inside and outside Romania, that are involved in developing the Automated Driving Vehicles
* Support the OEMs in building their Automated Driving Vehicles
* Propose ideas for Patents alone or in collaboration with other team members in the area of AD Vehicles.

Required Experience, Knowledge and skills:
* Experience in SW development in one of the next programming language: Visual C++, C++, C or other OOP programming language
* Abilities to provide and demonstrate "out of the box" solutions
* Abilities to start from a reduce volume of information and define the problems to be solved
* Self driving and oriented on Innovating things
* Knowledge in next areas would be a plus: Algorithm development, Electronic Map data for Navigation Systems, GPS , MathLab, 3G, 4G, LTE communication protocols
