Software Architecture Owner

Requirements

Hard – skills
• 5+ year of professional experience as a .NET, C# Software Engineer
• Experience with high-volume transactional (OLTP) platforms, and design and implementation of scalable and resilient architectures.
• Knowledge of OOP and OOD concepts
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, experience with jQuery
• Understanding of service-oriented architecture
• Web development experience: XML Web Services, WCF; WebSockets; SOAP/REST services, XML, RSS/ATOM, JSON
• ORM frameworks experience
• Experience with MS SQL Server.
• Experience with JIRA (or similar).
• Experience within the gambling industry is a plus.

Soft skills
• Borderline OCD organizing and planning skills (but can leave some room for the element of chaos)
• Better time management skills than Doctor Who’s
• Obsessed with deadlines, milestones and deployments.
• Knows when to say no and when to push to deliver
• Capable of creating an environment where others speak their minds in his / her presence and able to listen to the Developers’ point of view

The Architecture Owner will assist the Technical Director and work closely with the Project Manager, Product Owner and Technical Team Leader in managing this particular software product and the development team behind them. The Architecture Owner will be responsible for ensuring a coherent and optimal software architecture for the overall product, ensuring that teams share a common architectural vision and approach. The Architecture Owner will achieve this in a collaborative manner, using their knowledge and experience to guide the software development teams to make good design choices.



Responsibilities

• Owning the design the new architecture of the next generation GamMatrix platform.
• Hands-on development and integration of the evolving business functionality on GamMatrix platform in collaboration with the Changsha, Bucharest and Lviv teams.
• Understanding business requirements and their mapping to the given software framework.
• Discussing business requirements along with the Team Leader, Business Analysts, Project Managers and other parties involved.
• Adhering to Agile methodology and design principles of the project.
• Support the Product Owner, and QA & Support Teams, with technical assistance and knowledge whenever issues arise.
• Proactively identify – and suggest solutions to – productivity and quality problems.
• Perform cross team coordination, and resolve dependencies between the teams.
• Report weekly to Technical Director on progress, people and improvements.
