    Requirements

    Required Skills:

    • Apache / Tomcat - Server Application Setup, Servlet Technology
    • Strong programming background in Java
    • UNIX operating systems (Solaris and Linux)
    • Experienced with: Java Server Technology, ANT, continuous integration
    • JavaScript
    • RIA
    • Knowledge of the spring framework

    • Hands on contributor
    • The candidate will face the TradeFinder teams (front office business and GT) and he has to get familiar with the challenging working culture and with the rapid application development versus industrialization requirements
    • Strong interfacing with other groups (global team), i.e. on the infrastructure, application, business layer is essential.
    • The candidate has to be fluent in English and German is optional.
    • Good verbal, presentation, and written communication skills

    Experience and Education

    • 3-4 years of work experience in IT
    • 1-2 years project management or application owner experience
    • Master degree or equivalent work experience required
    • Experience working with distributed development teams
    • Experience in finance products would be an advantage

They are currently looking for an Application Services Application Owner, for one of their main projects, TradeFinder.

    TradeFinder is their award winning suite of electronic applications, serving both their internal markets business and external client base worldwide. As a real-time, interactive web platform, TradeFinder supports all three phases of the investment process: pre-trade, trade and post-trade. Real-Time Market Reports, Rich Cheap Analysis, Time Series and Term Structure Analysis, Cross Market Relative Value Scans, Executable Pricing Tools, Asset Liability Management, Portfolio Optimisation, Portfolio Analysis, Solvency II, Clearing Services, Risk Management, Individualised CPPI.

    Whilst TradeFinder itself started as a RAD application (rapid application development) with direct front office involvement in the development of business functionality, regulations require to apply standard process and controls with the same code base yet with sprint release cycle, packaging, QA and testing, deployment, and support fully in the hands of GT. The driver for this change is that use cases influencing the books of the bank can’t be supported by the original rapid concept.

    Position Description

    The Application Owner supports the IT Application Lifecycle by ensuring that ongoing enhancements and maintenance is completed in accordance with the requirements of the ‘paying customer’ and other stakeholders.
    With regards to changed TradeFinder software development process, the additional challenge is to build a new application ownership and support model for business analytics applications in the bank to comply with all regulatory requirements and controls, whilst cooperating efficiently with the Business and allowing for functional domain oriented releases.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Accountable for the ongoing enhancement and maintenance of TradeFinder including management of scope.
    • Conduct strategic planning for the application in collaboration with TradeFinder hub architects and engineers
    • Identify and manage technical projects necessary to ensure required and established service levels are maintained.
    • Manage strategic capacity, consumption and performance management (forecast and management based on business plans).
    • Ensure policy-compliance for RACE, SOX, ASG, ISP, Audit, etc. (incl. the technical ASAO tasks).
    • Manage software licenses, security certificates and contracts with service providers.
    • Ensure availability of all necessary application/service knowledge and documentation.
    • Ensure system stability through enhancement/maintenance activities.
    • Collaborate with various stakeholders including the hub application development team, development center teams, client services, program managers, subject matter experts in order to industrialize, transfer and support functional domains
    • Steer and oversee and deliver the design and development of industrialization solutions into the production support teams for operations and monitoring.
    • Perform reviews for all technical changes in close collaboration with hub team representatives (both business and IT).
    • Work with development center teams to estimate work effort throughout different phases of the functional domain deliverables.
    • Assist with development of configuration-/monitoring-/packaging-/deployment-automations.
    • Identify, document and communicate risks and issues discovered during delivery cycles.
    • Participate in meetings with business and development, production support teams on product enhancement and development planning calls, evaluate and coordinate production incidents escalations.
