    Requirements

    • 5+ years database installation/administration in SQL Server with its added features. (Configure and Maintain).
    • 5+ years’ experience in troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
    • 5 + years of developing techniques in SQL Server.
    • Mongo DB knowledge.
    • Experience in working with SQL Cluster, Log Shipping and Disaster Recovery in SQL Server, SQL Partitioning, Replication and Sharding in MongoDB.
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to analyze system logs, events and monitoring alerts.
    • Willing to learn, watchful to details.
    • Calm, stable person, able to work in a team.
    • Good English speaking/writing.

    Responsibilities

    Recruitment context

    As an Infrastructure Team member, you are part of the Service Delivery team that implements and maintains the company’s infrastructure. You work in close collaboration with your colleagues from various departments. Many features depend on other departments within the company, and you will communicate and work closely with other parties to deliver the infrastructure and hardware foundation for our products to the customers – Research & Development, Quality Assurance and Customer Support.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Installation and configurations
    • You will manage the company’s Database Servers from all datacenters, remotely or physically when required.
    • Install, configure, maintain new and existing Database Servers.
    • Introduce and integrate new technologies into existing Database environments.
    • Upgrade Database servers to current versions according to our licensing options.
    • Provide Test and Dev environments in Romania for the Web Development team.
    • Propose high availability solutions meant to improve the current IT infrastructure.
    2. Service disruption prevention, monitor and control
    • Perform routine audits of systems and software, isolating and addressing errors, security issues and malfunctioning equipment.
    • This audits target:
    • Database Integrity and availability.
    • Table fragmentation.
    • Size issues.
    • Database Logging.
    • SQL Server Jobs.
    • Security violation.
    • Blocking processes, deadlocks.
    • Log Shipping process.
    • Disaster recovery process.
    • Database Clones system.
    • Implement scheduled backups of all databases.
    • Continuously analyze database Servers logs and identify potential issues with existing systems.
    • Troubleshoot Performance issues by analyzing all the key factors: CPU, Memory, Disk and Query Optimization, Indexes etc.
    • Ensure that database infrastructure is up and running 24/7 365 days/year.
    3. Debug and repair, on-call
    • Schedule down-times for system maintenance that can’t be avoided, announce it properly with enough time ahead for all the relevant departments, prior, during and after the maintenance operations were completed.
    • Troubleshoot any reported problems and do your best to fix them immediately.
    • While performing on-call activities make sure to monitor all alerts from emails and SMS, answering phone and connecting online to address any incident, according to incident management processes defined in the company.
    4. Key success factors
    • Making sure that availability, up-time, response times and security levels are met according to agreed SLAs (service level agreements).
    • Effective time management.
    • Ability to deliver by the deadline set and informing in due time of any deviations.
    • Proactive and problem solving work approach.
