Qualifications:

- University diploma
- At least 3 years of general experience in network administration and/or telecommunications or any other relevant experience

Technical knowledge:

- Good knowledge of and experience with Cisco, Checkpoint and Riverbed products
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, STP protocols, as well as LAN and VLAN standards
- Good knowledge of and experience with Lanx, MPLS and VPN technologies would be an asset
- Analysis and interpretation of data-packet decoding
- Good knowledge of and experience with Microsoft-based and other technologies (Windows Server, Exchange Server, SharePoint, Arcserv and Citrix) would be an asset
- Experience with large and complex environments (Lan/Wan/Man/VPN, etc.) would be an asset
- IP Telephony (Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unity and Voice Gateway) would be an asset
- Knowledge of H323, MGCP and SIP protocols would be an asset

General knowledge:

- Fast learner, motivated to learn
- Able to react quickly to analyze and diagnose situations and develop an action plan
- Well-organized
- Good customer and supplier relations
- English (spoken and written)
- French would be an asset
- Initiative and resourcefulness
- Pro-active in making suggestions about development or process improvements, procedures, tools and documents, new or existing, for the Network Operations Center.
- Self-discipline
- Good communicator

- Diagnose and solve telecommunications-related hardware and application problems;
- Diagnose and solve problems with IP Telephony infrastructure (Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unity and Voice Gateway);
- Administer and monitor the main infrastructure components at various business units and project sites;
- Analyze causes of incidents and document them;
- Identify and report hardware or link-related performance problems;
- Consult specialized technical resources for complex cases.
