IT Business Analyst

Required skills

• Collaboration & Facilitation – previous experience in leading user interviews, specification workshops.
• Worked closely with Product Owners and senior stakeholders to elicit business cases, through to the interactive team involvement to elicit functional and cross functional testable requirements.
• Analysis Methods - Business Process Modelling e.g. BPMN/UML, workflow/data models, publication of “asis” and “tobe” states that focus on communicating business value.
• The provision of agreed, clear and measurable objectives that considers business change management, impact, assumptions, risks, issues and decisions is also key.
• Agile Methods - working extensively in Scrum/Kanban environments with excellent knowledge of what constitutes a good User Story/Feature.
• Worked effectively with Themes/Epics and is comfortable slicing (decomposing) with others to agreed acceptance criteria and scenarios.
• Actively participated in ceremonial planning and estimation sessions.
• Worked extensively in a fast paced, heterogeneous multiplatform environment that includes web and/or mobile.
• Worked effectively with a product team and assisted in prioritizing features by business value and grooming product backlogs.
• Effective Communication evidence must include a good command of English both written and verbal with the ability to communicate complexity in a simple manner to all levels;
• Creating and delivering presentations that describe business value.

It would be a plus if you have experience with:

• Environment - worked with embedded systems.
• Languages - a good command of French both verbal and written.
• User Experience - creating persona based user journeys associated with annotated wire frames that seek to optimize behavior.
• Community - activity in the Agile community attending workshops, conferences, blogging.

• The Business Analyst (BA) drives the discovery and subsequent specification (requirements) process across the team by promoting effective team communication primarily through facilitating broad and ongoing investigations and workshops that lead to a clear documented definition of an agreed business need.
• The BA is engaged from the very start and throughout a given work stream to ensure the business need identified is delivered.
• The BA is a hands-on role with responsibility for the systematic and consistent capture of specifications through deep involvement with teams and stakeholders throughout an Agile delivery process.
• In addition, the BA maps the stakeholder community and seeks to have regular face-to-face communication, asks probing questions and develops a broad understanding of organizational issues that assist in developing coherent business cases.
• Works within a team comprising a Project and/or Product Manager, Developers, QA, Development Lead and a Development Manager.
• Collaborating with other teams and stakeholders across geographical locations with some travel is required.
