Database Administrator

What we're looking for:

You will have international exposure, so you should be comfortable in English (spoken and written).

In addition, you must have extensive knowledge and experience with:

- MySQL DBA (3+ years);
- Good Linux experience (CentOS, RHEL, Debian);
- Experience with shell scripting;
- SQL Coding;
- Experience with MySQL backup and recovery tools & processes;
- Familiar with MySQL high availability and failover clustering;
- Experience with MySQL replication technologies including Master-Master multi-replication, Master-Multiple Slave replication;
- Experience in documenting standard operational procedures;
- Familiar with capacity planning from database perspective;
- Familiar with Change Management process;
- Experience with database and disk system performance tuning;
- Experience with source code control tools such as Git, Perforce, CVS.

What you should do:

- Maintain and monitor environments on a daily basis;
- Define, improve, document standard operational procedures where needed;
- Troubleshoot environments and correct issues;
- Work on documenting areas that need to be addressed;
- Provide support services for production databases when critical issues arise outside business hours;
- Ensure systems are running smoothly;
- Create ways to store, organize, and present data;
- Work with businesses and managers to identify user needs;
- Perform complex technical, analytical and professional services involving program/member services, evaluation, database-driven Web -sites, office operations;
- Administer a variety of database systems including MySQL and others;
- Maintain and administer Web server and middleware tools;
- Set up new computer databases;
- Integrate old systems data with new system;
- Test and coordinate Change Management process at the DB layer;
- Assume the technical lead for DB layer and online database projects;
- Create high-level reporting systems;
- Audit, modify, and amend data in systems using SQL commands, hand-editing, and bulk import;
- Add new users to the system as needed;
- Plan and coordinate security measures alongside network administrators;
- Enhance or build database designs.
