B.S or M.S in Computer Science or related field with 12+ years or equivalent of industry experience in software product development role including all aspects of the product lifecycle including definition, architecture, design, and development.
Must-have skills:
- Demonstrated record of technical leadership including producing well-documented architecture and design work, and directing technical teams
- 8 years or equivalent of hands-on C/C++ experience
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to influence cross-group technical stakeholders
- Deep experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Linux kernel device drivers
- Linux user-space system level development
- Linux user-space library development
Highly desirable skills:
- Embedded Linux development, debug & test
- Linux streaming media (both audio & video)
- Working with Open Source Software community. Including success with getting code accepted in upstream open source projects
- Linux Display & Graphics driver development
- OpenGL, EGL, GLES2
Knowledge and developer experience with at least 4 of the following:
- gcc / glibc / GNU binutils / Makefiles
- gdb
- GNU auto-tools (autoconf & automake)
- modprobe / depmod / insmod
- Creating / building RPM Packages, including using rpmlint
- SysV init / Linux startup scripts
- DBUS
- udev
- ALSA & PulseAudio
- gstreamer
- video4linux
- X Windows / GTK+ / Qt / Clutter
- Netlink

The Open Source Technology Center within the Software and Services Group is looking for Linux software architects for developing and enhancing Linux drivers and kernel components, optimizing the core OS stack, developing user interface and application technologies, and building complete Linux distributions on Intel platforms. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and enabling the Android OS on new Intel architectures that span Intel's device platforms.
